E-CAMP-1 2015

Hi everyone. How are you today? It will be great for us if we pray first before jumped in into our activities~!
We have a big news to share to you all. What it is? Guess what? If u can guess it, you got candle :p
Okay, let’s not talk about anything not important. Because I will tell you about…................

THE ENGLISH CAMP 2015! So here.we.go!

E-Camp is English camp, one of the biggest event from EECC UNDIP. The rangers are consist of old rangers and new rangers. We stayed for 2 days in the El Roy Villa, Bandungan, Semarang. It was about 45 minutes from UNDIPTembalang by bus. There were 2 bus; the first bus is consist from group 1, group 2, and group 3; the second bus from group 4, group 5, and group 6.

When we arrived, there were some rules that we have to obey. We have to speak English, no sleepy-faced, no phone when the activity starts, and so on. If we made mistakes, our name will be written on the paper that was taped to the wall. Rangers who don’t obey the rules, will be given punishment. Hey be calm guys, it’s not like we’re going to strangle you or feed you to the lion, if you make mistakes, your punishment is sit up, stand up, roll over ,wait…no… I think I’ve mixed up the ideas! Well, the punishment is a secret. Keep it secret :p

We directly had lunch and pray Dzuhur. Then, we do an introduction so that we can know the new rangers. We are family now, we should know each others. No knowing, no loving. It’s true anyway :)

We did a lot of game to spice up the atmosphere and have fun. Old rangers gave us a game called “fun games” (so we can have fun! haha, get it? No? Okay.) So basically, the basic rule for the game is we can’t use our hands to transfer a piece of paper to our friends next to us. It kinda result in dirty powdery faces.

The pic-1: they not doing anything weird, haha, even though the brown boy body position is slightly…awkward
The pic-2  : This couple is sweet in this photo.Hayoo…. I need one gossip box ASAP!

Sadly, those fun games were over and we move on.

Next, we all did personality test. This test is useful for those who want to discover their personality. Basically, there were 4 types of personality. They are; influence, dominance, compliance, and steady. We took the test pretty seriously that if you were there, you could hear a pin drop (because it’s dead quiet...like a graveyard) After we took the tests, the result was examined by the old rangers and they announced the result shortly after. This is one of the advantages that we can get in E-Camp. Well, we know ourselves a bit more.

The next activity was drama section. All of the groups did their very best and it was AWESOME

But this is a game, so there will be a group of commentators. They were prepped and ready to give score and also comments about the performance. They were scarily professional. Like one of those commentators on the TV, you know, ever watch X-Factor or Indonesian Idol, or well, D’Academy ? There was one commentator that was so critical and just …critique. Just imagine that, they act so professional.

The jury

Because the whole thing was a game, there will be one winner. *drumroll* The winner of the second game is the group which put about Indonesia in their drama, they are RUBICON!

Our president, Arsan gave a gift to RUBICON. Congratulations guys^^

The most active ranger is BURHAN *confetti* *standing ovation* (seriously he was so active that I think he drink too much caffeine).

After that, it’s time to get in a serious mode. The old rangers began to explain about each division in EECC. They gave brief but thorough information about each of the division which were; PR, HRD, and RnD. Then, the new rangers were being interviewed one by one at 10 pm. While waiting for their turn, they watch SADAKO. Oh noo! It was a horror movie. Guys, why did you think watching a horror movie at 10 pm in some random villa is a good thing? How dare you guys.

That was it for Day One.

The second day was the peak of this amazing event. It’s time to sort them into their hous—no, wrong universe, we’re not in Hogwarts—ehm, to sort them into their division.
Andre as HRD gave the new rangers the ‘golden-card thingy’ that we could keep as a souvenir, look like we got a golden ticket to the next selection (imagine that you were in a contest). New rangers received what they got, rangers have to received whatever the division they got. We are family. Don’t worry yeahhhhh :D
New rangers have to accept whatever division they got into. But, don’t worry. It’s not like we’re going to be divided so differently like Dauntless and Amity or Slytherin and Gryffindor. We’re family, so there will be no strict line between each division. The division thingy act as a way or a base for each rangers to develop their skill and truly learn things that they were good at so that they could help the other division. We initially help each other at the end, so yeah, don’t worry too much :D
It took three solid hours for the old rangers to discuss the whole division placement. There were lots of pro and contra, of course, and a tight discussion.

Out rangers of ECCC came.

Old rangers

After the morning exercise, we were divided into a new group. First task was Code Solving. The code was to reveal our next destination. We were definitely need our Sherlock mode to be on this time. The codes were pretty hard. I believe there were people that said the codes were too hard and it makes their brain hurts.  Every desti-
nation was challenging as it is. Since there were bunch of lovely punishments waiting for us if we didn’t do the challenge successfully.

I don’t wanna share too much of our amazing stories here, since it could be so long. If you want us to retell the detail of the stories to you…well, we won’t. Haha, kidding, you could ask us if you meet us or simply check our social media.
So,what do you think after reading this story? Are you interested in EECC? If you want to ask us anything, just contact us on our twitter, Facebook, instagram, and Path (it will be on air soon) , visit us at PKM building or simply ask one of the rangers. EECC? WE ARE AWESOME!

Coursera | World-Class Education for ALL, for FREE

Stanford University

Have you ever been dreaming to study in world top universities and taught by the world-class professor? Yes, I do.
Many of us dreamed to have the opportunity to study in world top-class universities, such as: Harvard, MIT, Oxford, Wharton, and many more. But, not all of us is that lucky to have that kind of opportunity. Well.. some may said "Life is Unfair, sometimes." Yeah, some of our friends in Africa, for example, find it hard to access the education. While the others, the more lucky one, find the other obstacles: not having enough information, not having enough money, and so on. As the result, we can see that only hundreds who are lucky having education from those universities and those lecturers. Coursera was born trying to find solution of that problems.

Coursera, which was established on 2012 believes in connecting people to great education so that everyone around the world can learn without limits. Coursera was founded by computer science professor from Stanford: Andrew Ang and Daphne Koller, that's why Stanford's picture appears here. Coursera offers the free courses taught by the great lecturers from world top universities, such as: Wharton school of University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, Columbia University, Yale, and many more! All the courses are FREE.

I have signed up and enrolled to some courses that will be started on September. I also visited some finished courses and looked at the videos which are Great! It's just like the courses you take in your current university. There will be classes, homeworks, exercises, and you can discuss with the other students taking the same courses. I think Coursera is great initiative and you should give it a try.
